Japan's interest in the continent has been since 1993, when Japan launched the Tokyo International Conference on the Development of Africa (TICAD), known as the Paltecad.The Japanese strategy towards the continent is based on the necessity of balance in providing assistance and maintaining security and stability, which will have a positive impact on the future of the continent on the one hand and ignite the international competition among the international forces and provide the best strategies for them.

الملخص :تمثل قارة افريقيا اهمية كبيرة في النواحي الامنية والاقتصادية والسياسية بالنسبة للقوى الكبرى، كما انها تكتسب اهمية اضافية نظرا لوجود احدى ابرز القوى الاسيوية الصاعدة في الوقت الحالي الا وهي اليابان التي بدأت تتغلغل في القارة خلالا السنوات الاخيرة واصبح لها موطئ قدم فيها، وقد شهدت القارة الافريقية تنافسا دوليا حاداً وخاصة بعد الحرب الباردة، بحيث اخذت القارة تكتسب اهمية استراتيجية مهمة لاسيما مع بداية عقد التسعينيات من القرن الماضي، لعل ابرز تلك الدول فرنسا والولايات المتحدة الامريكية والصين واسرائيل وروسيا وايران واليابان وغيرها من الدول، ولهذا جاءت هذه الدراسة لتسلط الضوء على الاهمية الاستراتيجية واثر التنافس الدولي على التنمية في دول القارة. وقد جاء الاهتمام الياباني بالقارة منذ عام 1993، حينما اطلقت اليابان مبادرة (مؤتمر طوكيو الدولي لتنمية افريقيا) والمعروفة "بالتيكاد".كما ان الاستراتيجية اليابانية تجاه القارة قائمة على ضرورة التوازن في تقديم المساعدات وحفظ الامن والاستقرار والذي سيكون له اثر ايجابي على مستقبل القارة من جهة واشعال التنافس الدولي بين القوى الدولية وتقديم افضل الاستراتيجيات لها.} }
