The amount of silt, expressed in units of cubic meters per year which is expected to be deposited after 20 years in lakes and dams AL- naser, AL-uja, Agharee and mullassi - Western Desert, was expressed in terms of variables Applied the formula adopted by the Food and Agriculture Organization FAO (1) to estimate the amount of silt from the analysis of data expected rainfall monthly, annually for the period from 1977-1994 in addition to the soil texture and the nature of land use and the tendency of the projected water in the area of study. The results showed that the amount of silt to the estimated period of 20 years have ranged from 38320.0 , 305389.4 , 493386.6 , and 375994.6 cubic meters in the lake of the dam AL- naser, AL-uja, Agharee and mullassi, respectively .This showed that the accumulation of sediment (silt) in water harvesting facilities lead to negative repercussions on the efficiency of storage and water quality and uses in the future.
