Al-Rahim PY - 2019 VL - 60 IS - 1 SP - 91 EP - 102 JO - Iraqi Journal of Science المجلة العراقية للعلوم SN - 00672904 23121637 AB - Tectonically, the location of the Al-Ma'aniyah depression area is far from activeboundary zones, their tectonic features have to reflect the original depositionalenvironments with some horizontal movement due to rearrangement of the basementblocks during different actives orogenic movements. So, the analysis ofaeromagnetic data were considered to estimate the thickness and structural pattern ofthe sedimentary cover sequences for this area. The aeromagnetic data, which arederived from Iraqi GEOSURV to Al-Ma′aniyah region is analyzed and processed forqualitative and quantitative interpretations. The process includes reducing theaeromagnetic data to pole RTP, separation the aeromagnetic data to regional andresidual using power spectrum techniques and derivatives methods to delineate theanomalies boundary. The delineated anomalies from magnetic data are dependentfor quantitative interpretation using 3D forward and inverse modeling. The depths ofmagnetic sources are 7-8 km at north and northeastern parts of study area and isabout 8-10 km at south and southwestern parts of study area.
