عمل البريطانيون خلال استيطانهم في استراليا الى ايجاد شعب جديد من خلال نقلهم للمدانين البريطانيين بعد ان اصبحت السجون البريطانيه غير قادرة على استيعاب الاعداد الكبيرة من هؤلاء المدانين وبعد خسارة بريطانيا حربها في امريكا الشمالية اصبح من الضروري ايجاد ارض جديدة لاستيطانها وكان ذلك على حساب السكان الاصليون لارض استراليا اذ كان هؤلاء يعيشون بطرق بدائيه بعيدة عن الحضارة والتمدن ومن الطبيعي ان يحدث صدام بين المستوطنين والسكان الاصليين ومما لاشك فيه ان البون الشاسع بين ثقافة المستوطنين والسكان الاصليين كان له اثرة في طبيعة تلك العلاقة اذ نظر بعض المستوطنين الى السكان الاصليين نظرة شفقة ورغبة ER -
