@Article{, title={A COMPARATIVE MINERALOGICAL STUDY OF SOME SOILS FORMED UNDER VARYING CLIMATIC CONDITIONS FROM NORTHERN IRAQ دراسة مقارنة للصفات المعدنية لبعض الترب المتكونة تحت ظروف مناخية مختلفة من شمال العراق}, author={Adel Mawlood Salih عادل مولود صالح}, journal={Mesopotamia Journal of Agriculture مجلة زراعة الرافدين العراقية}, volume={46}, number={2}, pages={72-81}, year={2018}, abstract={To determine factors controlling abundance and distribution pattern of clay minerals, four soil pedons derived from calcareous sedimentary parent rocks in Northern Iraq were investigated. Results revealed that the regional variation in annual rainfall plays a major role in determining amounts and distribution of clay minerals such as palygorskite,chlorite, vermiculite, smectite, illite and kaolinite. Palygorskite and smectite are available in three studied soils (Al-Khuder, Tel-Auskuf and Sumeel) with average annual precipitation of around 250 mm, 350 mm and 480 mm respectively, but these minerals are totally disappear in Batofa profile (Annual rainfall around 800mm).However vermiculite illite and kaolinite are the dominated clay minerals in Batofa soil.XRD analysis was detected a small amounts of random interstratified layer silicate minerals.Biotite-vermiculite mixed layers were found in Batofa soil,but in Al-Khuder soil an increasing amounts of (chlorite - smectite) mixed layer was detected while in Tel-Auskuf soils it appears that (chlorite-vermiculite) is the dominated mixed layer and (chlorite-smectite) is available at Sumeel soil. The general variations in clay minerals content and distributions in different soil locations can be attributed mainly to weathering conditions and mineral transformation. Palygorskite is considered to be inherited in soils of arid regions with gypsum content and limited annual rainfall, whereas illite, vermiculite and kaolinite occurs in soils with high annual rainfall.

لغرض التعرف على أهم العوامل المؤثرة على نوع معادن الطين السائدة وطبيعة توزيعها. تم دراسة التركيب المعدني لأربعة ترب مشتقة من مواد أصل كلسيه في شمال العراق.أظهرت النتائج أن التفاوت الإقليمي في معدلات الأمطار السنوية تلعب دورا أساسيا في تحديد كمية ونوعية معادن الطين السائدة مثل معادن الباليكورسكايت والكلورايت والفيرمكيلايت والسميكتايت والالايت والكاؤلينايت إضافة لخليط المعادن. تم تشخيص معادن الباليكورسكايت والسميكتايت في ثلاث ترب وهي الخضر وتلسقف وسميل والتي تراوحت فيها كميات الأمطار السنوية بين 250 و350 و480 ملم سنويا على التوالي ولكن هذه المعادن اختفت تماما في مقطع تربة باطوفة (معدلات الإمطار السنوية إلى حوالي 800 ملم) وسادت بدلا عنها معادن الفيرمكيلايت والألايت والكاؤلينايت. من ناحية أخرى فقد كشف التحليل المعدني وجود كميات محدودة من خليط المعادن,ففي حين تم تشخيص وجود خليط معادن البيوتايت- فيرمكيلايت في مقطع تربة باطوفة فقد لوحظ وجود كميات متزايدة من خليط معادن الكلورايت- سميكتايت في مقاطع الخضر وتلسقف وسميل. بصورة عامة أظهرت هذه الدراسة أن الاختلاف في محتوى التربة من معادن الطين وتوزيعها في آفاق الدراسة تتحكم به التغاير في الظروف المناخية وما يصاحبه من تغاير في مستويات التجوية في تلك ألمناطق فمعادن الباليكورسكايت تعتبر من المعادن التي تسود في الترب الكلسية محدودة الإمطار والحاوية على الجبسوم في حين تسود معادن الفيرمكيلايت والايلايت والكاؤلينايت في المناطق عالية الإمطار.} }
