لعلَّ ممَّا يوجه للنحو العربيّ من انتقادات بأنَّه نحو شكليّ لا مضمون له غايته صون اللسان من الخطأ لذلك جاء مقولباً بقوالب معيارية جاهزة وما على الدارس إلا حفظها واتقانها ، متناسين أنّ كثيراً من النّصوص اللغوية بل الشواهد النحوية لا تخلو من مضمون ما يكون ذا فائدة في الاستعمال اللغويّ وطيد الصِّلة بمعاني الكلام وبملابسات الخطاب بما يحمله من مقاصد واغراض، فهو إذن لم يكن كله نحواً شكلياً} }
