Twenty adult male rats were used and randomly divided into five equal groups of 4 rats each group. Group 1(control) were given corn oil(1ml /kg.bw) , whereas animals of Group 2 were given CPF 6.7 mg/kg bw in corn oil. Group 3, 4 and 5 were given CPF (6.7mg /kg.bw) combine PSO(20, 40, and 80 )mg/kg.bw respectively. The treatment were given once daily by oral gavages for 8 weeks. At the end of the experiment, All male rats of each group were mated with healthy adult fertile female rats ( one male rat was mated with two female rats) to evaluate the fertility rate and then all male were sacrificed and the caudal epididymis of each animal was used for the study of sperm characteristics. The results showed a significant decrease (P≤ 0.05) in concentration and motile percentage of sperm in animals treated with CPF and a significant decrease (P≤ 0.05) in number and weight of new born and the fertility rate of these animals. Moreover CPF groups treated with 20, 40 and 80 mg/ kg.Bw pumpkin seed oil respectively showed normal epididymal sperm characteristics, number and weight of new born and fertility rate compare with control group. Conclusion: The pumpkin seed oil improves the fertility in male rat after induction toxicity by Chlorpyrifos .
