من المفروض ان تتطابق الاوطان مع الدول لكن هذا الأمر لاينطبق على الفلسطينيين الذين أصبحت مسألة اقامة الدولة بالنسبة لهم أشبه بالمستحيلة رغم انهم رضوا ــ مضطرين ـــ للتنازل عن كامل الوطن من أجل اقامة الدولة ،لكن نرجوا ألا يكونوا قد خسروا الدولة وضيعوا الوطن .اعتقد الفلسطينيون بعد اتفاق أوسلو انهم في بداية الطريق نحو التحول الى دولة لكنهم تناسوا ان الإسرائيليين لن يتنازلوا يوماً عن مطالبتهم بأرض “ إسرائيل “ التاريخية ، ونحاول هنا بحث وجود مقومات لدى السلطة الانتقالية الفلسطينية الحالية لتعينها على التحول الى دولة في المستقبل من خلال استخدام منهج تاريخي و تحليلي .} }
