The two parasitoids were released at rates of one, two and three capsules, each capsule contained about 100 parasitoid pupae within the egg of the secondary host. the parasitoids were released twice during the season; the first release was made after the completion of pollination practice and the second two weeks later. During the two seasons of the study, the infestation levels by the LDM varied depending on environmental conditions. However, the infestation was relatively low during 2010 season. All release rates of the two parasitoids were effective in reducing the infestation by this pest on date fruit during both hababook and chemri stages. The highest control efficiency was 70.8% obtained for the parasitoid T. evanescens when used at the rate of three capsules per tree. Results also showed that the highest fruits number and bunch weight were obtained for this treatment too, while the lowest number of fruits per strands and bunch weight were obtained for the untreated trees. Therefore the use of this egg parasitoid as a biological means for the control of LDM could be considered as one of the integrated management options to protect date fruits and thus increase date production in the country, while at the same time insuring environmental and human health safety.

نفذت تجربة حقلية لمعرفة كفاءة نوعين من متطفلات البيض Trichogramma evanescens و T. principium لمكافحة حشرة الحميرة Batrachedra amydraula على ثمار صنف النخيل زهدي في منطقة الصقلاوية بمحافظة الانبار للعامين 2009 و 2010. اطلقت المتطفلات على دفعتين،الأولى بعد انتهاء عملية تلقيح النخيل مباشرة والثانية بعد الأولى بأسبوعين . استعملت ثلاثة معدلات لإطلاق المتطفلين (كبسولة، كبسولتين وثلاث كبسولات لكل شجرة بعدد 100 متطفل تقريبا ضمن بيض العائل الثانوي لكل كبسولة). أظهرت النتائج اختلاف ظهور بالغات الحميرة وأعدادها من عام لآخر تبعا للظروف البيئية السائدة في المنطقة حيث كانت نسبة الإصابة منخفضة نسبيا في عام 2010. وتبين أيضا أن وسائل المكافحة الحياتية أثرت بشكل معنوي في خفض الإصابة بهذه الآفة في مرحلتي الحبابوك والجمري للثمار اعتمادا على جرعة الإطلاق، وبلغت أعلى كفاءة للمكافحة لعام 2010بحدود 70.8%T. evanescens، بينما بلغت 46.8% للمتطفل T. principium بعد أسبوعين من الإطلاق. في حين بلغت بعد شهر من الإطلاق 65.8 و42 % للمتطفلين على الترتيب . انعكست هذه النتائج على حاصل الثمار لأشجار النخيل المعاملة، حيث ازداد عدد الثمار في الشمروخ ووزن العذق عند استعمال المتطفل بثلاث كبسولات على دفعتين مقارنة بالمعاملات الأخرى في حين سجل اقل معدل للثمار ووزن العذق في معاملة المقارنة . لذلك فإن استعمال متطفلات البيض كعناصر مكافحة إحيائية يمكن أن تكون وسائل واعدة للتصدي لهذه الآفة كونها وسائل فعالة وآمنة بيئياً فضلاً عن إمكانية استعمالها مع عناصر مكافحة أخرى ضمن برنامج الإدارة المتكاملة لآفات النخيل في القطر لتحقيق أفضل النتائج من حيث الإنتاج وحماية البيئة.} }
