TY - JOUR ID - TI - A study of Abbaside coins in the British Museum دراسة نقود عباسية في المتحف البريطاني AU - Ali Kadhim Abbas Al-Sheikh علي كاظم عباس الشيخ PY - 2012 VL - 42 IS - 64 SP - 351 EP - 386 JO - Adab AL Rafidayn اداب الرافدين SN - 03782867 26642506 AB - It is clear from the papers concerning money that a coincannot be neglected and depended upon by the researchers andlearners in much matters where the accurate information whichengraved on it like: Islamic western towns ,years differentdesigns distinct next of it and etc…The present study is one of the archeological studies related toa number of Abbasside caliphs by means of their money in animportant era extended from 298-339 A.HThe investigation also deals with the political and economicdomains at this time. In addition, different golden and silvercoins found in British museum have been investigated by researchers which they are about (30) coins among which a comparable dinar dated to al-Radibillah (325AH)The money in this study is investigated scientifically according to their time succession, i.e., begins with al-muktafibillah (289-2952AH). For instance, a number of scattered dirhams and dinars of some caliphs mentioned earlier in this research.Finally a great deal of thanks is due to the staff of the British museum for their help to achieve this study .

یتضح من البحوث التی تخص النقود بأنَّ القطعة النقدیة مهمة جداً، ولا یمکن الاستهانة بها ویعتمدها الباحثون فی أمور کثیرة کالنقوش التی نفذت علیها ومنها : مدن الضرب الإسلامیة والسنوات التی ذکرت فیها، والطرز المختلفة لها وکذلک النصوص المتنوعة التی تحویها وغیرها، وکل هذا یفید الباحثین والدارسین، وعلى الرغم من صغر حجمها؛ لکن دقة المعلومات المنقوشة علیها تعدّ من الوثائق المهمة التی لا یمکن الشک بها لأَنَّها تصدر من جهة رسمیة ، وقد اکتشفت الکثیر من المعلومات الغامضة التی لم یتناول بعضها المؤرخون الأوائل .
