@Article{, title={The Adhesion of Candida albicans to Epithelial Cells in Diabetes Mellitus Patients}, author={Najah Ali Mohammed}, journal={Al-Mustansiriyah Journal of Science مجلة علوم المستنصرية}, volume={21}, number={6}, pages={275-280}, year={2010}, abstract={We determined the adhesion of Candida albicans to oral epithelial cells in diabetic patients by an autologous adhesion assay with exfoliated buccal or palatal epithelial cells and one strain of C. albicans isolated from each patient by concentrated oral rinse technique, and investigated the influence of the carbon source of the growth medium, source of epithelial cells, and the influence of gander and smoking on the adhesion. Glucose, sucrose and galactose were used as the predominant carbon source of the growth medium. The autologous strain of C. albicans adhered selectively to the oral mucosa of diabetic patients. Palatal epithelial cells retained significantly more C. albicans in vitro and adhesion influenced by the availability of sugars in the growth medium.

تم تحديد نسبة التصاق المبيضات الفطرية على الخلايا الطلائية الفموية في مرضى السكري بطريقة الألتصاق الداتية، حيث عزلت عزلة من المبيضات الفطرية من كل مريض بطريقة تركيز غسول الفم ،وتم تقشيركل من الخلايا الطلائية الفموية والحنكية لدراسة مدى تأثير كل من مصدر الكاربون في الوسط الزرعي, مصدر الخلايا الطلائية بالأضافة الى عاملي الجنس والتدخين في عملية التصاق المبيضات الفطرية على الخلايا الطلائية الفموية. استخدم كل من سكر الكلوكوز والسكروز والاكتوز في الوسط الزرعي كمصدر للكاربون حيث وجد ان الخلايا الطلائية الفكية تحتفظ بشكل اكثر معنوية بالمبيضات الفطرية (in vitro)مقارنة بالخلايا الطلائية الفموية. وكان الالتصاق اكثر بوجود سكريات في الوسط الزرعي.} }
