Abstract

AbstractExisting literature reveals a gap in the empirical knowledge on workplacedeviant behavior in organizations. This study specifically aims to firstly,investigate the relationship between ethical climate and workplace deviantbehavior; secondly, investigate the relationship between job characteristics andworkplace deviant behavior; and thirdly, investigate the relationship betweenhuman resource management practices and workplace deviant behavior. Asurvey was conducted involving distribution of questionnaires to 107employees from all job categories, namely managerial, executive and nonexecutive,in general company for chemical fertilizer industry, located in thestate of Basra. Quantitative data were processed using the Statistical Packagefor Social Science version 19.0, which includes descriptive statistics, andPearson correlation. Additionally, multiple regression were used to test thestudy hypotheses. The results suggest a significant and negative relationshipamong of the variables.
