Interpreting the Aesthetic Meaning in the Holy Koran, a study on the Phonetic level

Abstract

This thesis establishes an interpretive reading of one of the linguistic structure levels of the Koranic text which is the phonetic level in an attempt to reveal its deep suggestive meanings and its aesthetic effect. The efforts of the ancients were not concerned with this level as with the other structural levels; phonological, grammatical, lexical and semantic. The nature of the research demanded the research to be divided into three topics, in the first “Interpretation: the concept, basis and methods” in which the paths that interpretation went through were tackled as well as its basis and topics adding to that the efforts exerted by the philosophers which established interpretation with different methods. The second part “the Suggestive Dimension of the Phonetic Level” included an explanation of the phonetic level nature and the reason behind its difficulty as well as the efforts made by the ancients to study it with all the flaws in it, which the researcher attempted to determine and find possible solutions for them depending on the contemporary methodology data. The third part is an application of the main phonetic phenomena that came in the holy Koran and interpreting them semantically and aesthetically, to prove the validity of the basis for which it is established. .
