Barley crop in the light of the ancient cuneiform sources

Abstract

The people of Mesopotamia depended on agriculture after that they settled in agricultural settlements, as it provided them with strength food as well as industry and commerce that promoted economy of the society. Among the crops, which were grown, is primarily barley that has had economic importance or in economic transactions, as it became a means to bargain for prices and valuation. At that, time there was no official currency issued by the state. Accordingly, the importance of the barley was the subject of this research, which highlights the most prominent element in Mesopotamia.
