The Impact of Using Roundhouse Diagram Strategy on the Achievement and Visual-Spatial Intelligence of Second Intermediate Students in Physics

Abstract

The paper aims at figuring out The Impact of Using Roundhouse Diagram Strategy on the Achievement and Visual-Spatial Intelligence of Second Intermediate Students in Physics via testing two null hypotheses. The experiment was conducted on second intermediate students in Shohadaa Al-Islam Secondary School/ Diyala Province-Iraq, in the academic year 2013-2014. The sample of the study comprised of (60) students who were divided into two isometric groups; experimental and controlling of (30) students each. In order to verify the two hypotheses, the researcher has set an achievement test for both groups. Its items were objective multiple choice ones of four choices each. The researcher, then, has adopted the visual-spatial intelligence test, and the reliability of the two tests was verified by exposing them to a group of experts. Moreover, the researcher has taught the experimental group according to the roundhouse diagram strategy, while the controlling group was taught in terms of the traditional method. After applying both tests, data was gathered and statistically processed. The results reflected that there was statistically significant variance on the level of (0.05) in achievement and visual-spatial intelligence in favor of the experimental group. In the light of results, the researcher presented a group of recommendations and suggestions
