Extraordinary flooding of the Tigris River and environmental effects model: An Empirical Study in terms of science for the year 2013

Abstract

This study was to detect environmental impacts resulting from the flooding of the Tigris River in 2013 when inundation elevations specific area, were selected in terms of ( AL-Alam) model for being the most extensive part for the valley of the river, after the( Fatah)area in( Salahuddin) province, which includes large tracts of land uses. Rising river levels and submerge neighboring territories lead to damage to the Environmental of the water surface, which will increase the evaporation process, and then comes into contact with a variety of rock components in structure which differ in the process and the proportion of their interaction, which leads to damage material in buildings, bridges, roads and sanitary facilities and the injury of human diseases, and the spread of epidemics, because of drinking water contamination as well as the loss of vast agricultural lands. To avoid these risks in the future calls for it to build a mathematical model (early warning system) in order to take appropriate future actions in the event of another flooded.
