Studying the Relationship among the values of some Biokinematic Variables for Advanced Hammer Throwers

Abstract

Hammer throw is one of the difficult events that requires a high performance technique. In order to achieve distinguished results, good study should be given to the performance interrelated Biokinematic variables and to the strengths and weaknesses as well. The study aims at studying the correlations among the values of certain Biokinematic variables for advanced hammer throwers. To solve the problem of the study, the researcher has conveniently used the descriptive method and chose three hammer throwers from Najaf city as a sample. The experiment of the study has been conducted on 15/12/2015 with six attempts for each thrower. The best attempt has been analyzed and all data have been collected and statistically treated with SPSS. In conclusion, the results showed that the values of the Biokinematic variables for the local hammer throwers from Najaf neither met the target mechanical values of the advanced level (the national team player) nor the international level. Accordingly, the researcher recommended the need to develop the legs movement during the single and double support to build the largest amount of momentum according to the distance of acceleration at the time of throwing. He also asserted the importance of the releasing time, the values of hammer final speed, as well as the number and speed of rotations and recommended to improve them all.
