Gas Phase Growth Techniques for Quantum Dots: An Overview

An overview of methods for preparing quantum dots (nanoparticles) in the gas phase is given, and recent developments and advances for gas phase synthesis techniques are discussed. Developments in instrumentation for monitoring gas-phase synthesis of nanoparticles, in modeling these processes, and in producing multi-component nanoparticles are also included. The most important developments relate to improved control and understanding of nanoparticle aggregation and coalescence during synthesis.
