Abstract

The research aimed at exploring the " Effect of Strategy (Think- Match- Participate) on the Achievement of Second Intermediate Students in Biology and Developing their Scientific Tendency " The sample consisted of (62) students of Aledrece for boys, they are divided randomly in two groups and one of them is chosen randomly to represent the experimental group which includes(31) students who study according to the Strategy (Think- Match- Participate), the second group represent the riterion group which includes(31)students who study according to the common method. The two groups are equal in certain variables(student`s age counted by months, marks obtained in Biology subject of the year half, intelligence outcome, scientific tendency mark of the pre- test). The researcher confines the scientific material of the tow chapters namely(seventh and eighth) of the Biology text book of the second intermediate class during the academic year (2013- 2014) , the researcher coined behavioral aims of the tow chapters: (302) aims and prepared(18) plans for the experimental group and (18) plans for the criterion group. As for the tools of the research, she prepared two tools: an achievement test of(50) items was formed and the scale of zaytoon(1987) is adopted to measure the scientific tendencies which contains(45)item. The results of the study of the two samples in the( T-test) of the indepent samples, show the following:1- The pupils of the experimental group who study according to the Strategy (Think- Match- Participate), are superior to the pupils of the criterion group who study according to the common method in the test of acquiring Biology concepts. 2- The pupils of the experimental group who study according to the Strategy (Think- Match- Participate), are superior to the pupils of the criterion group who study according to the common method in the scientific tendency scale.
