Control of Nonlinear Dynamics in Semiconductor Laser with Optoelectronic Feedback

Abstract

We report experimentally and numerically the generation of Mixed-Mode Oscillation (MMOs) behavior using semiconductor laser with ac-coupled optoelectronic feedback. The modulation of MMOs using periodic external perturbation has been demonstrated. The MMOs representation has been achieved by winding number as a function of laser bias current. The control of MMOs behavior can be achieved by changing the frequency or amplitude of modulating signal (i.e. periodic external perturbation).
