The Impact Of Guidance Program In Decreasing Regular Sensitivity To Reduce The Inveterate Social Pressure Among The Preparatory School Students

Abstract

The current study aims at investigating the effect of guidance program by decreasing the regular sensitivity to reduce the inveterate social pressure among the preparatory school students. The researcher supposed the following hypotheses :•There are no statistical differences at the (0.05)level among the ranks of the experimental group students' scores before the application of the guidance program.•There are no statistical differences at the (0.05)level among the ranks of the control group students' scores in the pre- and post tests on the inveterate social pressure scale.•There are no statistical differences at the (0.05)level among the ranks of the experimental and control group students' scores in the post test.•The limitation of the study is restricted to the preparatory school students in the public/governmental school/ Diyala province /khalis district 2015-2016.To achieve the goals of the study and measure its hypotheses, the researcher used the experimental(experimental and control groups, pre- and post tests). And the sample consisted of (24)students from two preparatory schools (Al-Rowad and Al-Khalis ).The sample was distributed randomly on the experimental group (12)ones in Al –Rowad school and (12) students in Al-Khalis school, moreover, the researcher measured up the two groups in the following varieties( students' scores in the inveterate social pressure ,age, the parents' academic achievement and the student's academic achievement). Then, the researcher constructed an inveterate social pressure scale which consisted of (40)items exposed to the jury members specialized in education and psychology who in turn asserted(1005)the validity of the scale whereas reliability has been found through two ways : retesting (o.84) and Cronbach's alpha (0.81).Also, the researcher applied a guidance program that is(style of reducing the regular sensitivity )which has been run through a guidance program used to decrease the inveterate social pressure. Furthermore, face validity has been asserted to measure the program exposing to jury members. The program consisted of 14 guidance sessions ,two sessions a week lasting 45 mins. The statistical procedures used are:" conbach's alpha ,T-test for one sample,T-test for two sessions ,Chi- sequare , Wilcoxon test, mann- Whitney test , Weighted mean , percentage weight, Kolmogorov test , Pearson coefficient correlation). The results the researcher reached at are:1.There are statistical differences at the (0.05)level among the ranks of the experimental group students' scores before the application of the test.2.There are no statistical differences at the (0.05)level among the ranks of the control group students' scores in the pre- and post tests on the inveterate social pressure scale.3.There are statistical differences at the (0.05)level among the ranks of the experimental and control group students' scores in the post test. The aforementioned results revealed that the guidance program has an effect in decreasing the social pressure among the preparatory school students. In the light of the previous results, the recommendations and suggestions have been listed.
