The Impact of Complex Exercises in Developing some Mental Processes and Technical Skills for Football Goalkeepers

Abstract

Mental processes are of great importance in the overall behaviour of human beings and the technical skills of football goalkeepers. The study is important in the complex exercises given to the goalkeepers during the training sessions lead to the development of their mental processes which in turn lead to skill performance development during the competition as it is similar to the state of playground. The researchers used the experimental method in the implementation of their research, the sample was selected and represented by the goalkeepers of the Fallujah football Club for the season 2017-2018. Their number was (4). It began to apply the exercises in the training modules and the main section, which is given by the coach of the team Starting from Monday, 15/3/2017 until 1/6/2017, three training units per week during the special preparation stage. The researchers used the method of high frequency training and repetitive training method. The researchers took into account the design of the exercises and training modules. After conducting before and after tests and obtaining the required data, results were treated statistically to identify the differences from these exercises. The researchers then concluded that the exercises used had a direct impact on the development of some mental processes and technical skills for football goalkeepers. Some recommendations are given by creating many educational and training tools to develop technical performance and accuracy in a similar circumstances to those of the competition
