The impact of the relationship between the strategy of reforming banking system and sustainable development in Iraq A field study to a sample of banks in Baghdad

Abstract

The aim of the research is to explain the impact of the relationship between the strategy of reforming the banking system and achieving sustainable economic and social development in Iraq through the formulation of two hypotheses. The first hypothesis discusses the existence of a significant relationship between the strategy of reforming the banking system in Iraq and its relation with achieving sustainable development in Iraq. The second hypothesis tackles the existence of the impact of the strategy of reforming the banking system on achieving sustainable development. In order to achieve the required goals, a survey questionnaire was distributed to a sample of the banking departments (60 individuals) representing (15) governmental and private institutions. A number of conclusions and recommendations were reached, including the limited banking services provided by the banks and the backwardness of the technical tools adopted in the provision of banking products.In addition to the existence of problems in the administrative, regulatory and legislative aspects as well as the lack of marketing policies to improve the banking business, which requires the need to enhance the confidence between banks and the public and accelerate the establishment of a company to ensure the deposits of citizens and paying serious attention to the development of banking staff in the fields of advanced banking technology.
