Effect of spraying Sea Eagles extract(Tecamin Algae)on growth parameters of two varieties of broad bean plant Vicia faba L

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in the nursery of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Kufa during the growing seasons of 2017 - 2018 to study the effect of spraying Sea Eagles extract (Tecamin Algae) on growth parameters of two varieties of broad bean plant. Experiment was adopted at Randomized Complete Block Design(R.C.B.D) with three replicates in two factors. First two varieties of broad bean (Local and Italian). Second spraying Sea Eagles extract (Tecamin Algae) in three concentrations i.e.(0, 3 and 6) g.L-1. Means were compared by using the Least Significant Difference (L.S.D.) test at probability of 0.05. Results show that Local variety significantly superposed to Italian variety in all growth parameters. Also spraying Sea Eagles extract(Tecamin Algae) at a concentration 6 g.L-1 significantly gave the best results( plant height, main root length, number of pod per plant, number of seed per pod, dry weight of bud, plant yield and yield per unit area), compared to non-spraying plant which gave the lowest values. From the interaction between two factors results showed that spraying local variety with Sea Eagles extract (Tecamin Algae) at a concentration 6 g.L-1 significantly superposed to Italian variety which non- spraying with Sea Algae that gave the highest plant height i.e. (34.00 cm), highest main root length i.e.(12.50 cm) and the bigger number of buds per plant i.e.(6.00buds), number of seed per bud i.e. (6.00 seed) and the highest dry weight of bud i.e. (11.67g) and bigger plant yield per plant i.e.(80.749g), compared to control plants which gave the lowest values.
