Separation the Alkaloid Compounds From the fruit of Tribulus terrestris, and Study the Biological Effect on Some Gram Positive and Negative Bacteria

Abstract

This study is designed for isolation and identification of some alkaloid compounds from Tribulus terrestris, and to determine the inhibitory effect of these compounds were investigated on the growth of some bacteria, which include: Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli Proteus vulgaris Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and used the antibiotics (Gentamicin, chloramphenicol) as control samples. The alkaloid compounds were further analyzed by IR. The alkaloid compounds showed significant inhibiting effect on the the tested bacteria which were used in this study compared incomperision with control.
