Abstract

The research concludes the following:The definition of research, introduction and the significance of research.The first chapter contains the introduction and the significance of the research which reveals in support the basketball game with mental tests in general and understanding test particularly ,because the mental ability and its importance have great significance in raising the evaluation and level of player. It also concludes the problem of the research which crystallizes in the light of lacking of mental tests specially the understanding test which help the young player raise his planning and technical level.The goals of research:1-Designing of test of understanding of throwing distance in basketball.2-Definition of degrees and standard levels of understanding test of throw distance in basketball for the young players in the south of Iraq.so the researchers reached to the conclusions which are:1-high ratio made by the sample of the research in test of understanding of throwing distance in basketball 2-Low ratio made by the sample of the research in test of understanding of throwing distance in basketball.Recommendation :1-using of test of understanding of throwing distance in basketball in the training units.2-Setting this test on other age groups.3-Designing other mental tests of different age groups.
