دراسة التلوث البكتيري والتغيرات الفيزيائية والكيميائية لمياه الشرب في خزانات حي الغدير

Abstract

This research includes study of bacterial pollution and estimation of some physical & chemical parameter of AL-Husseinia River and cosmetic water in Hay AL-Ghadir reservoirs (Karbala,Iraq) and the new&old water distribution system, in each month of research (Jan.,--Jul.2006).The bacteriological study involves estimation of( TB) Total bacteria,(TC) Total coliform,(FC) Faecal coliform. The physicochemical measurements included estimation of Temperature degree, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solid, Electrical Conductivity, Residual Chlorine, Total Alkalinity,Ph,Total Hardness, and concentration Mg+2,Ca+2,Cl-1 ions. The results showed that the bacterial numbers in crude water is increased the highest (TB), (TC) ,(FC) in July and the numbers equal1000,330,32 cell/ml respectively, the lowest(TB),(TC) in Fab. and the numbers equal 171 ,40 , and,(FC) in Mar. the numbers equal 0 cell/ml respectively .While in the other site the bacterial counts decreased significantly. The temperature affected by changes in ambient changes. The value of pH was within the Iraqi and International standards and the general average equal 7.5. The highest Electrical Conductivity, Total Dissolved Solid in July was recorded in old water distribution system and the values equal to 1360 ms. and 677m/l respectively. The lowest Electrical Conductivity ,Total Dissolved Solid in Jun was recorded in raw water and the values equal to 976 ms. and 480m/l respectively. The highest Ca+2, Mg+2,in Jan., Mar. was recorded in new water distribution and the values equal 87.2,56.6 m/l respectively and the lowest Ca+2, Mg+2, in Mar..Jun was recorded in raw water and the values equal 28.36, 48.8 m/l respectively. The results of Total Hardness, Total Alkalinity, and Cl-1 were increased in cold months as compared with hot months especially in raw water and old water systemThe highest turbidity in Jan. was recorded in raw water and the values equal to 57(NTU) and the lowest in Jun was recorded in old water system the values equal to 2.73(NTU).
