Isolationists role in spreading Islam and against foreign thought

Abstract

Mu‘tazela was one of the most important theological groups that played a prominent role in the Islamic culture. It was pioneer in spreeding Islam and peacefully confronting the foreign ideas. It employed the intellectual approach in its discourse and dialogue with the others and that, very highly, contributed to introducing an acceptable realistic image of Islamic ideology. This group also employed interpretation to understand the text and emphasized the free will of the human beings. The Mutazelists used debates and writing books as a technique in their dialogue with the others. Their philosophical knowledge had a great impact on stamping their discourse with philosophy and thus they convinced many about their evidence and made them convert to Islam. The Mu‘tazalists discussed with the believers of the other religions and philosophies many questions about doctrine and nature. As a conclusion, the Mu‘tazalists introduced solid ideas and the ories that are still discussed today though they, themselves, are no longer living .
