Underwater Sensing Characteristics of a ZnO Thin Film Sensor Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis

Abstract

In this work, ZnO thin films were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique tofabricate underwater sensors. Results explained that the preparationconditions affect the sensing characteristics and the attenuation in theunderwater environment is dependent of distance from sensing signalsource and its frequency. The prepared sensor was tested in a waterenvironment containing crude oil and it exhibited reasonable results tosense the oil amount.
