Estimation of tomato production function covered (greenhouses) in Karbala province

Abstract

The research aims to estimate the production function of the tomato crop covered in the province of Karbala in the light of a random sample of (155) plastic house in 2010.Analysis results showed that the function Allegartimah is the most representative of the relationship between the output of the crop and independent factors (cultivated area, the amount of seeds, the amount of fertilizers, animal, the amount of chemical fertilizer, the amount of material control, the number of hours of irrigation, the number of hours of manual labor, working hours robot) based on the criteria economic, statistical and standard as the value of coefficient of determination is 0.92, which indicates that 0.92% of the variation in the production of the crop due to the variance in the independent variables, and 0.08% from the rest of the variables back to the variables did not show paradigm suck impact of a random variable, the study showed significant variables except the variable space and total elasticities (3.4) any function that returns with increased capacity and this means increasing the resources used leads to increased production Botaúr increasing. When calculating the productivity of marginal and medium turned out to be decreasing for the variables (the area under cultivation, the amount of seeds, the amount of organic fertilizers, and the number of hours of work manual and automatic), which refers to the occurrence of these variables in the stage production the second stage of production (economic phase), while the production medium (the amount of chemical fertilizer To control the amount of materials) and decreasing marginal productivity is negative, indicating the occurrence of these two suppliers in the third phase of production (non-economic).
