Abstract

Miss Bell went to Baghdad in 1917 and remained there until 12 July 1926 when she died and was buried in the garden of the Armenian Church, in Baghdad. During its presence in Iraq Miss Bell was able to gather important information about Iraqi society in general and al-Baghdadi, in particular, as was the British occupation authorities in Iraq depends on the information provided by the Department of the British High Commissioner in Baghdad.
