Binary ECG Segmentation from Color ECG Image

Abstract

This paper presents color ECG image segmentation technique to segment a set of ECG wave region which can be used in ECG wave analyzing and detection applications or any other application which may require color segmentation or binary image preprocessing . The operation of getting ECG signal which can not be gotten in the hospitals and those of medical specialist by using medical specialist by using medical devices and various backgrounds even though some used the signal with the same color that can be merged with ECG so that it is hard to define, all medical researches concerned with this field of study are basically depending on statistical methods and medical experience by a group of specialist doctors this makes the digital computers poor in this important field . In this research image processing is used for forming algorithm to be able to deal with this kind of medical images then prepared it to a binary digital image to analyzing . The proposed algorithm is carried out by using wave color detection , color image analyzing , filtering of wave process depending on threshold technique and splitting and merging algorithm . Then the result is binary ECG with located effective undead of test images . The proposed algorithm was tested under multi ECG images cases and give a good result .
