Identification of Some Secondary Grapevine Black Foot Disease in Nineveh /Iraq Nurseries

Abstract

This study was aimed, the most important black foot disease in Nineveh grapevine nurseries. The isolation from diseased grape young plants showed that there were the fungi : Botryosphaeria parva Pennycook & Samuels, Phaeoacremonium aleophilum W.Gams & Crous, MJ. Wingf.et L.Mugnai, Phaeomoniella chlamydospora Crous &W.Gams, Pestalotiopsis menezesiana (Bres & Torrend) Bissett, as the secondary causal agent of disease . Isolation for Pm. aleophilum fungus gave the highest percentage from diseased grape young plant root (5.80%) and stem(8.13%),The fungus P. menezesiana was recorded for the first time in Iraq. The Pathogenicity test proved to be that all fungi were pathogenic to grapevine cutting(cvs. Shada soda, local seedless and hallawanii) by causing black foot in nursery while the highest disease severity caused by P. menezesiana and Pa. chlamydospora on three cultivars .
