Abstract
A transitive verb has two forms active and passive. The active form is the one that is followed by the direct object. It can be made as (SVO, or SVOO), for example:(1a) The waiter poured the coffee. (Active)(1b) The coffee was poured (by the waiter.)(Passive). (Quirk et.al :1985:23).
