The Emotional Tranquility of the Fatherless Pupils at the Elementary School and Its Relation to the Gender Variable (Males and Females)

Abstract

Because of the significance of the orphan emotional tranquility, the need for safety and tranquility comes first as one of the elementary psychological requirements. Whenever humans satisfy it, they will be satisfied with the other psychological and social needs. ( Mohammad and Mursi, 1986: 109).The study aims at:1 -Identifying the emotional tranquility level for fatherless pupils at the elementary school.2 -Identifying the differences in emotional Tranquility for fatherless pupils according to the gender variable (male, female) . As the sample of this study is (400) fatherless pupils with (200) schoolgirl pupils and (200) schoolboy pupils at the elementary schools. The two researchers have built an emotional tranquility measurement and applied it on the above mentioned sample of two elementary classes (fifth and sixth stage), and the most important conclusion that the researchers have drawn, shows that the study sample has low sense of emotional tranquility moreover it assures the statistical differences between the males and females in the level of emotional tranquility in the interest of females depending on the gender variable.The research has included a set of recommendations as :1 – Consolidating a sense of emotional tranquility for pupils, especially fatherless ones identifying the factors and conditions that cause it, and working on fixing them through mitigating these factors.2- Increasing the level of Psychiatric care in schools and working hard to create awareness of the importance of emotional tranquility in the life of the individual and the community in general and for fatherless pupils in particular.
