The Style of Ahmed Matar's Political Poetry / A Critical View

Abstract

Ahmed Matar is classified as a poet of political resistance and has a special style which differentiates him from others. He is influenced by the Holy Quran and its constructions and vocabularies such as the narrative style which is the tool by which the poet clarifies his aim which is to show the problem of his society. Another aspect is the satire which the poet used as a weapon to fight the corrupt governmental authorities. Although Ahmed Matar is a poet of free verse, he restricts himself to the rhyme in most of the times because of the effect of the rhyme on the listeners.
