Terza rima Al-Muwashah

Abstract

The following study which is entitled "Aspects of Deviation in Andalusian Poetry: The Poets of Altawa'f and Marabouts Age as an Example" came in an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The study started with the introduction in which the researcher clarified that art exists only because of the special power of deviation and establishing a new pattern in which the reality is carried by fantasy and the non-existed exists. Imagery in poetry is regarded as the creation of a fantasy free of any conventions because it derives it from a perceptional element. Consequently, the researcher has reviewed some similar terminology, then selected the most comprehensive term ,i.e., deviation which stimulates the mind by crossing convention. The first chapter discussed replicative deviation, then the second chapter dealt with structural deviation or linguistic deviation which depends on linguistic conventional devices to convey abstract insight. The third chapter discussed the musical perspective which is the deviation of phonetic structure. This chapter contained a theoretical introduction discussed the phonetic structure and rhythm and their role in deviation. The difficulties that faced the researcher in this study represented by the amount of deviation in Andalusian poetry. The variety of styles, patterns and poets pushed the researcher to the perfection in the choice to give this phenomenon a theoretical representation. The other difficulty was reviewing terza rima because as it is known that it does not follow a certain rhythm which is a type of deviation from the general system of rhymed verse. The conclusion came up with the results of the study which depended on the descriptive analytical method in studying deviation.
