Emotional Equilibrium and its Relation with Optimism and Pessimism and Performance of Some Basic Skills of Fencing Players by Using Epee

Abstract

The psychological variables play an important role in Fencing Player life ,especially during competitions and training . Optimism or pessimism is regarded as a psychological variable , playing a direct effect on the sport performance , thus, it will affect the sport results and achievements since it is a personality trait. Each person has a different and various personality, thus, one is different from another towards emotional equilibrium and skilful performance. The research problem is presented by the following question : Is the Fencing players emotional equilibrium related to optimism and pessimism and performance of some basic skills in fencing? The researcher will try to answer this question through conducting procedures of this research . The researcher used the descriptive approach through correlative relations for its suitability of research problem and objective. The research sample includes players of Diylaa governorate fencing club, totaling (20 players). The research tools were measuring emotional equilibrium, optimism and passim and forms of evaluation of skilful performance in fencing .The researcher used SPSS to process data and obtain the results ,and he concluded that emotional equilibrium has a positive effect through its correlative hypothetical relation with optimism and some skills of fencing sport (Numerical attack , Circular attack, horizontal defense and circular defense). The researcher recommends that it is necessary to conduct researchers related to psychological aspects due to their various effects on players life ,especially fencing players .
