Abstract

Effect on genetic groups and season in seminal plasma protein traits for Awassi sheep and their crossbreds as a measurement of reproductive activity for rams.H.M. Ali H.M.H. AL Malaly A.H.AL Haboby Coll.of Agri./ Unvi. of Babylon AIDC/Sudan AbstractThe study was conducted at goat breeding station ,Abu grab, Baghdad. total protein concentration ,Albumin and Globulin and type of Globulins ( Alpha , Beta and Gama) was calculated in (11)rams,3 local Awassi (L) 4 (DHTL)(0.25 D'amin, 0.25 Hamadani, 0.25Turkish Awassi,0.25Local Awassi) and 4(DHAL) (0.25 D'amin, 0.25 Hamadani, 0.25 Assaf, 0.25 Local Awassi).Seminal Plasma was separated from semen monthly for two seasons hot (May-June–July) and moderated (September-November).Season significantly (P<0.05) affected total protein concentration where as hot season was superior in this trait (3.64±0.21) comparison with moderate season (2.73±0.16).No effect of genetic groups on all traits of seminal plasma protein. Some traits of seminal plasma protein were affected by interaction between genetic groups and season. DHAL was superior in some traits in hot season compared with moderate. It was conclusion that protein was important factor in evaluation of semen especially albumin and globulins in addition that we can breed DHAL and DHTL in hot season normally.
