The Role of Political Well in Effectiveness of Anti corruption Agencies: Case study of Nigeria

Abstract

Corruption is one of the most challenge obstacles that face developing courtiers in its offered to be developed one. It effects economic, political and social conditions and led to mistrust between people and their government. One of the most corrupted countries in world is Nigeria it always come at the end on of the corrupted countries list by International Transparency; however there were many initiative by different Nigerian governments to overcome corruption, most important one is that of president Obasanjo’s initiative 1999. The formation of new agencies as The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission and Economic and Financial Crime Commission and giving it real legal and executive power combined with real political well to overcome corruption has achieved some success in the way of anti corruption effort in Nigeria.
