Freedom in Ahmed Lutfi Al-Sayid

Abstract

Ahmad Lutfi al-Sayyid one of the first laid down the liberal rules in Egyptian politics, and the most important symbols of the movement and in the introduction to Egyptian thinkers and most attention to freedom issues in general, and freedom policy in particular, as addressed in the study, analysis and criticism because of what reached by the Egyptian society, both under Ottoman domination or occupation restricted the public opinion, political freedom and women's freedom. The Egyptian people knew that the tyrannical ruler was caused by the nation, disregarded its rights and handed over to the ruler. They never knew that the source of power was the people, To him, and that finding a parliament in which the people embodied the Constitution and the authorities. Freedom is the general rule for thinking Mr. Ahmad Lutfi and direction of the public and a touch of delay in Egyptian society, higher than that of developed societies, it had an impact in casting his interest in the deficiencies and repair work, leading me in all called him. He demanded freedom of the press and the impact of public opinion in the political arena, and that the state limited functions is to maintain security and justice and to defend the homeland against any aggression. He appealed so much to quote scientific methods and theories of European, applied to the Egyptian society, and stressed that his call does not mean that tradition because it is the most dangerous pests era. Rejected the idea of the Islamic University it was not because of the refusal to deny Egypt's Arabism or hostility to religion but believed in the importance of strengthening cultural ties between the Arab and Islamic countries, Acknowledging that religion and language contribute significantly to the Egyptian mind the structure of Egypt and the Egyptians.
