The impact of extra-curricular activities in developing social skills among fourth grade students from the perspective of their teachers in Amman

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the role of extracurricular activities in social skills development among the fourth basic grade students from their teacher’s point of view in the capital Amman governorate, and to investigate the differences between means of fourth basic class teachers and the contribution of extracurricular activities in social skills development due to gender, specialization and education qualification. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach because of its relevance for the purposes of the study. After studying the educational literature, the researcher developed a questionnaire for the role of extracurricular activities in the development of social skills. Social skills scale was developedbased on Earls (2009), Al-Hawyan (2011) Qatawneh, 2014scales.
