Medicine in Egypt and the Levant in the Mamluk era (648 -923 / 1250 -1517)

Abstract

It discussed the reasons and causes of these diseases, Which in fact does not come out for two main reasons : first human reasons which represents through the unhealthy behaviors of community members . Second : the natural causes which human don't have role in it , but the design of nature that have a significant role in the spread of disease in Egypt and El-Sham region . Then moved to talk about these diseases and methods of treatment which divided into two types, the endemic diseases and imported diseases . Also the study discussed the medical education and the role of the endowments and institutions that focused on teaching medicine, and health care facilities of various types . in addition mentioning the medical Renaissance and the relationship of medical doctors with Sultans and, princes, and those who have an important role in the renaissance such as doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and medical machinery and tools used in that period . Also the study talked about the administrative management of the facilities and medical institutions and health, and the role of the Mamluki state, represented in the role of the regulatory and supervisory calculated on everything related to health and medical conditions .
