The effect of cloud computing on academic achievement and technical performance development on computer skills

Abstract

The objective of the present study is to find out the effect of using cloud computing on the academic achievement and development of technical performance among the computer skills course students of Dawadmi Education collage in Shaqra University. The experimental research approach was used. The sample consisted of 30 randomly selected students. Tools were developed and used: the proposed cloud-based training program (Google), performance testing, and technical performance assessment. The study found that there were statistically significant differences at a mean level (0.05 ≥ α) between the mean scores of the pre application and post application of the cognitive test on computer skills course students of Dawadmi Education collage in Shaqra University for the benefit of post-measurement and there was statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥ α) between the mean scores of the pre and post applications for the self-assessment of the technical aspect of the technical performance of computer skills course students of Dawadmi Education collage in Shaqra University for the benefit of post-measurement. According to the results, the researcher advised a number of recommendations, including: the need to take advantage of the technology of cloud computing as a learning strategy to develop the skill of technical performance of students, the use of cloud computing technology as a strategy for teaching technical performance and also cooperative education through the collective participation among students, Pre-university based on building technical and collective performance learning skills and Internet-based learning, holding training courses for faculty members and others persons involved in learning process in Saudi universities to train them for using of cloud computing applications.
