Self- efficacy and its impact on the academic achievement of students of University of Hail in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of some variables

Abstract

The present study aimed to detect the impact of self-efficacy on academic achievement among female students of University of Hail in Saudi Arabia, in light of some demographic variables. The sample consisted of (300) female students from colleges of (Engineering, Literature, and Education) at the University of Hail. They had chosen randomly in stratified way. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a measure of self-efficacy, The academic achievement for the student measured through the cumulative average. The statistical program SPSS was used to analyze the data.Results of the study revealed an average level for both, self- efficacy and academic achievement, and also it revealed that there is a positive impact and statistically significant for the self- efficacy on academic achievement, and found differences in self-efficacy due to the variable age, and in favor of the category of (25) years and above, and the study also revealed significant differences in the level of academic achievement due to the variable Specialization, and in favor of the College of Education. Accordingly, the researcher recommends for further studies and efforts to raise the level of self- efficacy studies among female students, and search on effective factors to raise the academic achievement and enhance its quality.
