The Linguistic and rhetorical Dimensions of lamiyati abi - talib BEUH

Abstract

The literary texts of the poets and writers in the early Islamic period are considered an important source for people who are interested in civilization , history, literature, language , and poetry. These literary texts enable us to know the details of the historical events which are respected by Muslims as the Honorable Prophet Mission . In addition to that, these literary texts are considered a fertile material for establishing the contemporary products in poetry , prose , grammar, rhetoric, eloquence, and language. Lamiyatu abi- talib is at the head of the poems which dated to the introductory signs of the Honorable Prophet Mission. It is also at the head of the literary texts which contains rich linguistic vocabulary . This article is concerned with studying some aspects of the linguistic implications of this rare poem through reviewing the literary and linguistic sources and identifying the views of the Arabic literature notables about al-lamiya which is considered a good example of the Arabic poetry . This article also includes studying examples of the grammatical , linguistic , and rhetorical citations cited by many compilers of Arabic literature over different ages.
