The Effect of a Psycho-Motor Program in Decreasing Trauma and Developing some Offensive Skills in Basketball among the Young Age Groups ( 16-18) Years

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims at preparing a psycho-motor program in decreasing trauma and developing skill performance of young athletes as well as investigating the difference in the posttests between the experimental and control groups and developing offensive skills in basketball. The study hypothesized that there are statistically significant variations between the pretest and posttest of trauma and the skills of chest handling and shooting in basketball among the young players of the two groups in question, as well as variations in each study group between the pretest and posttest. The sample of the study consisted of 14 young players (16-18 years) from specialized schools in Diyala. They represent 47% of the study community and the experimental group of the study. The researcher adopted the experimental group in the study. The skill tests and the psycho-motor program on the sample. The data were processed using SPSS. The researcher concluded that the program in question has a great effect on in decreasing trauma. The scientifically prepared program has a positive effect on developing chest handling and shooting. The researcher recommends using trauma scale and the attention to guidance programs and counselors as well as conducting similar studies.
