Abstract

The aim of this study is to highlight the positive and negative effects of social networking sites on the scientific level of university students and their relation to gender, age, school level, marital status, access rate, hours of employment, usage, The information they receive through the websites and their desire to continue using these sites. In order to achieve these goals, the study used the questionnaire and the individual interview with the students themselves as a tool to collect the required data. The sample of the study reached (480) students. The sample was withdrawn from five faculties: Pharmacy, Science, Pure Education, Literature and Law. The number of males (187) was 38.9%, while the number of females (293) was 61.1% of the total sample. In order to reach To the data and information facts that have been made The study used the descriptive and quantitative statistical analysis method for its prominent role in the analysis of spatial differences and differences of human geo-phenomena and to identify the factors and the effects behind it.The study found a number of results, the most important of which were: the drop in the number of students in remarkable terms after entry into this virtual world and the use of social networking sites, where the percentage of students with good (good, And the percentage of repetition and loading of the subjects of study has also doubled to the full extent after the number of students who have a weak assessment does not qualify them to move to the other stage (12) students, which constitute a simple percentage (2.5%) of the total sample before using Web sites This number has risen to (24) long A part of the sample and by (5%) after the use of networking sites.
