Dynamics of quantum dot laser with direct current modulation

Abstract

Abstract:In this work, the quantum dot (QD) lasers dynamics were studied, with modulated injection current.A model of its rate equations were solved numerically using Runge-Kutta method. The effect of themodulation current amplitude, frequency and the bias dc current were included. The study shows thatthe QD lasers dynamics includes different behaviors such as stable, periodic, multi- periodic andself- pulsing, then the system ending to the chaotic state.
