Abstract

The research aims to know the effect of using the strategy (REAP) in the motivation of reading in chemistry for students in the second grade and the average sample consisted of search (62) students from the second grade average students were randomly assigned equally to the two experimental and control group. It was a reward in the two variables: (chronological age-month period, the former test information, the rate of the previous year degrees in chemistry, IQ test, motivation reading scale), the strategy was applied over the entire semester. To achieve the aim of searchResearcher prepared the search tool and is a measure of motivation literacy with six dimensions (curiosity, identify, engage, compete, challenge, strategic use) and adopted by the researcher was honesty and firmness to gauge motivation literacy account and treated statistically data using statistical program SPSS, as well as the use of statistical methods (coefficient Cronbach's alpha), the results showed a statistically significant difference between the experimental group students who have studied according to the strategy (REAP) and the control group students who have studied as is the usual way in literacy motivation for the experimental group.In light of the findings it was reached that the use of strategy (REAP) for students of the second grade average an effect in raising the level of motivation of literacy, and therefore the researcher recommends the adoption of REAP strategy in teaching, and suggests further studies for various stages of their impact in academic achievement and motivation of reading
